The first homes in Las Vegas were built as part of the new city on May 15, 1905 when 110 acres of land were auctioned off by Union Pacific Railroad. The availability of water made Las Vegas an ideal refueling point and rest stop for the new railroad connecting Salt Lake City and Southern California.

Today, Las Vegas is the entertainment capital of the world and one of our countries’ most desirable places to live due to our low tax base, relatively low housing rates when compared to neighboring western states, incredible outdoor adventure opportunities and 330 average days of sunshine per year!
