Veteran Affairs Medical Care

We have more than 240,000 veterans living in Southern Nevada. To meet the medical and service needs of our veterans, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs opened the VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System in August of 2012.

Our VA Hospital offers 90 beds, a 120-bed nursing home, and an outpatient care center.

Veteran Outpatient Clinics

The VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System also offers veterans six outpatient clinics located throughout Southern Nevada to include a location in Henderson, three in Las Vegas, one in North Las Vegas, and one in Pahrump.

The VA Outpatient Clinics offer services by a Patient Aligned Care Team (a PACT is a team of caregivers: doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and dietitians, etc.)

Southern Nevada State Veterans Home - Boulder City

Southern Nevada State Veterans Home – Boulder City located in Boulder City, NV, offers a variety of therapies and care services to help its residents regain their independence.

The Veterans home is an 82,000 square foot facility accommodating up to 180 residents in three living units called neighborhoods, including one with 24-beds providing two levels of secured care living for individuals suffering from advanced cognitive impairment. Each neighborhood has dedicated staff providing 24-hour skilled nursing care with a clinical team committed to “Caring for America’s Heroes.”

The Southern Nevada State Veterans Home in Boulder City is a state-owned and state-operated facility receiving support from the US Department of Veterans Affairs.

The facility is Medicare/Medicaid certified.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must possess a military discharge, other than dishonorable, or be the spouse or Gold Star parent of a veteran who meets this requirement. Additionally, the applicant must be a current resident of Nevada or provide verification of Nevada residency at the time of enlistment in the military.
